  • Hotel Facts: The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas was originally the Mandarin Oriental. Because it has no casino, the air smells of signature scents rather than cigarette smoke, making it a favorite for “quiet luxury” seekers.
  • Prime Location: Tucked away quietly right next to Aria on the heart of the Strip.

  • Non-Gaming Atmosphere: A rare, serene escape from the typical Las Vegas casino noise.

  • Peacock Alley: Stunning 23rd-floor views with surprisingly approachable pricing.

  • Automated Suites: High-tech rooms featuring motorized curtains and smart lighting.

  • Two-Stage Elevators: You must travel to the 3rd floor before catching a separate elevator to guest rooms.

  • The Automation Curve: The smart light buttons can be finicky; they may require some trial and error to master.

  • Shopping Proximity: The hotel is located conveniently on the other side of the Crystals shopping mall.

  • Pricing: Unlike its New York counterpart, the luxury here comes with a much more reasonable price tag for food and beverage.

Luxury at the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas

Having stayed at nearly every hotel worth visiting in Las Vegas, I finally turned my attention to a place I had never tried. I wasn’t particularly interested in collecting Marriott points this time around.

Instead, I decided to give the Waldorf Astoria a unique try. Let me tell you, this hotel does not disappoint. It offers a level of calm and sophistication that is incredibly rare in this city, providing a true sanctuary amidst the neon-lit chaos of the Strip.

Hilton For Luxury Advantage

I booked this stay using the “Hilton For Luxury” rate (formerly known as Impresario) from Classic Travel. This is a dedicated program for luxury travel partners that provides elevated benefits similar to top-tier diamond status.

It is the best way to experience the Waldorf brand if you want to be treated like a true VIP from the moment you step inside, ensuring that every detail of your stay is handled with a higher level of recognition and care.

Hilton For Luxury Perks Included:

  • Complimentary Breakfast: Daily breakfast for two at Zen Kitchen.

  • $100 Resort Credit: Can be used toward the spa or the incredible dining at Peacock Alley.

  • Room Upgrade: Subject to availability at check-in.

  • Early Check-in/Late Check-out: Based on availability to extend your stay.

Arrival

The hotel is perfectly situated on the Las Vegas Strip, tucked away just past the shopping mall. Upon my arrival, the valet was immediately available and parked my car without delay.

Since I was traveling light with a small amount of luggage, I didn’t require much assistance. I walked into the beautiful lobby and was greeted immediately by the front desk.

I was checked in without any hesitation or typical Vegas wait times like you find at pretty much EVERY other Las Vegas hotel.

The Hotel

The layout of the hotel is unique and contributes significantly to its exclusive, residential feel. After the ground floor entrance, you must take an elevator to the 3rd floor. This level serves as the central hub for the resort, housing the main restaurant, Zen Kitchen, and providing the gateway to the guest room elevators.

Navigating the property is simple once you understand the key floors:

  • The 3rd Floor: This is where you access guest rooms and the main dining room, Zen Kitchen.

  • The 8th Floor: This is the wellness floor. It hosts the pool area, the expansive gym, the full-service spa, and both the nail and hair salons.

  • The 23rd Floor: This is the social heart of the hotel. It features the famous Peacock Alley lounge and a secondary, moody bar area perfect for small bites and city views.

The design throughout is sleek and sophisticated, characterized by clean lines and a modern aesthetic. It provides a luxurious sanctuary that feels worlds away from the gambling floors and crowded pedestrian walkways just outside the doors.

The Suite & Room

I found my way into a fantastic, large suite that offered an impressive amount of space. The room opens with a nice welcoming area that leads into a comfortable sitting room.

It also included a nice sized desk, which is perfect if you need to work in a private in-room office.

One thing to note is the automation. The room features a button panel on the wall & near the beds to control all lights, as well as automatic curtains and sheers.

While you can block out the world with a single touch, the buttons can be a bit aggravating. I spent some time figuring out if I needed to hold the button for one second or two to make everything function as expected.

Bathroom Features

The bathrooms are extremely large and impressively appointed. They include both a massive soaking tub and a separate stand-up shower.

Even though I was traveling by myself, I appreciated the double sink setup. It provided a level of space and luxury that made the morning routine feel much more elevated.

Unique In-Room Amenities

The technology is the standout feature here. Being able to control the entire environment from your bed is a major perk once you learn the system.

The sheer curtains allow you to enjoy the view while maintaining privacy, all at the push of a button.

Restaurants and Lounges

The dining experience was a pleasant surprise, particularly regarding the overall value for a luxury brand.

  • Peacock Alley (23rd Floor): This is a beautiful bar and sitting area with floor-to-ceiling windows. I decided to sit along the glass to enjoy a perfectly cooked steak while gazing at the gorgeous, buzzing activity on the Las Vegas Strip below.

  • The Bar: Tucked into the back of Peacock Alley, this dark and intimate bar area offers smaller bites like salmon and steak. It is the perfect spot for a more private, moody dinner.

  • Value: I was genuinely shocked by the pricing. While a glass of wine at the New York Waldorf might easily run $40, here it was only $18. It felt more approachable than many spots back home in Atlanta, making the luxury feel accessible.

  • Zen Kitchen (3rd Floor): This is the main restaurant for breakfast and high-quality meals throughout the day. The atmosphere is vibrant yet sophisticated.

  • Hotel Pool Café: During the warmer months, the outdoor patio offers a great spot for poolside dining, providing a relaxed environment for lunch under the sun.

Amenities, Gym, & Pool

The 8th floor is the dedicated wellness hub of the hotel. It features a full-service hair salon and a nail salon for those looking to pamper themselves.

The gym is truly impressive. It is fully loaded with modern equipment and offers a stunning view of the Strip while you work out.

The outdoor pool area features two different sections to enjoy. It is a fantastic spot to relax under the sun, provided the weather is warm enough.

Final Closing

Check-out was an absolute breeze, handled with the same efficiency as my arrival. While I didn’t receive a specific physical welcome amenity this time, the “Hilton For Luxury” rate made the logistics of the stay very simple and stress-free.

The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is a hidden gem for anyone who wants the prestige of a Strip location without the noise of a casino floor. The prices are far more reasonable than you would expect for this level of brand, and the service is consistently top-notch. I will definitely be making this my primary Las Vegas base in the future.
