A Comprehensive Review of the W Hotel Las Vegas
For many, Las Vegas Blvd is a ritual of walking, shopping, eating, drinking, and gambling. However, the Strip can actually be an extremely relaxing environment for those who know where to look.
The Four Seasons Las Vegas is the pinnacle of this quality, relaxing environment. Having undergone full room upgrades in 2025, the property feels more luxurious than ever.
While the hotel opened alongside Mandalay Bay in 1999, it maintains a unique identity by owning the top five floors of the resort. I was unaware of this before my visit, as the dedicated lobby sits prominently on the front side of the resort along the Strip.
W Las Vegas Review: Introduction
Visiting Las Vegas is often a ritual of gambling, shopping, and late nights. However, for those of us who skip the cigarettes and the casino floor, the choice of hotel is everything.
We have visited Vegas four times in the last two months alone, making it a yearly ritual for over a decade. Whether we are attending trade shows or lounging at day clubs, we typically seek out non-gaming sanctuaries like the Waldorf Astoria or Vdara.
This time, we took a chance on the W Hotel Las Vegas. I was quite shocked to find that the hotel was spectacular, particularly from a room perspective.
W Las Vegas Review: Arrival
The arrival experience is seamless as the hotel shares a drop-off point with the Four Seasons and Mandalay Bay. We arrived expecting the traditional, outlandish nightclub vibe typical of W Hotels in New York or Atlanta.
Instead, the entryway was surprisingly bright and vibrant. The lobby immediately takes you back with beautiful columns and “floaty” curtains everywhere.
Construction is currently ongoing for a new lobby restaurant. I imagine the aesthetic will be even more impressive by this time next year.
W Las Vegas Review: The Hotel VIP Experience
The check-in process was a highlight of the trip. While I prepared to wait in the Marriott Bonvoy line, I was directed to a private VIP lounge.
This 30′ x 30′ room offered a quiet atmosphere away from the lobby bustle. It was stocked with alcohol, food, water, and snacks.
We were allowed into our room as early as 11 AM. Throughout the stay, we used our cream-colored room keys to access this lounge for free coffee, danishes, and breakfast treats.
The Suite & Room
We were upgraded to a beautiful corner suite that felt incredibly spacious. Because many of these non-gaming hotels were originally designed as condominiums, the rooms are much larger than standard Vegas fare.
The master bedroom was separated from a large sitting room by a formal doorway. The curved glass windows made the space feel even more expansive than a typical rectangular room.
The view overlooked the entire Strip. While I personally consider the neighboring Luxor a bit of a dump, seeing the pyramid from that height was a cool experience.
Bathrooms Features
The suite layout is exceptionally functional, featuring a two-bathroom setup. A convenient half-bath is located right off the entrance for guests.
The large master bathroom is tucked behind the bedroom. It felt new, fresh, and exceptionally clean, providing a level of comfort that made the stay feel truly high-end.
Unique In-Room Amenities
The room was fully prepared for a modern traveler. The desk was equipped with every plug imaginable for charging electronics.
The most insane feature was the window glass. During the day, the gold exterior creates a blue tint that makes photos difficult.
However, at night, the interior lighting makes the glass panes turn a brilliant, matching gold. It was a crazy visual experience to see the room glow with the building’s signature color.
W Las Vegas: Restaurants and Lounges
Staying here gives you the best of both worlds: quiet dining and mega-resort variety. You have direct access to the Mandalay Bay mall and the Four Seasons’ culinary options.

W Las Vegas: Amenities & Pools
The W provides access to the entire Mandalay Bay resort, including their famous beach and casino. However, the W itself remains a quiet retreat.
A secret walkway allows guests to skip the main Mandalay lobby. It dumps you directly into the casino and restaurant area for maximum convenience.
W Las Vegas: Spa & Fitness
The fitness center is impressive, measuring roughly 100′ x 100′. It is not a full-scale commercial gym, but it is very quiet and loaded with everything needed for a full workout.
The spa area on the same floor is extremely nice and upgraded. It even includes a small boutique for W Hotel gifts and high-end products.
W Las Vegas: Final Closing
I highly recommend the W Hotel Las Vegas for anyone seeking a quiet alternative to casino hotels. You get the peace of a non-gaming property with the amenities of a massive resort.
Parking at Mandalay Bay is roughly $20 per day, though Ubers and the local tram make a car unnecessary. If you want to escape the Strip, the Valley of Fire and Death Valley are within driving distance.
The checkout was a breeze via the in-room iPad. This stay was a reminder that you don’t have to stay in a casino to have a world-class Vegas experience.
