  • Hotel Fact: This suite is yet to be posted on the website yet as August 2025. The hotel was shut down for 8 years and just reopened in August 2025 after $2 Billion USD in renovations. The Waldorf Astoria New York has a secret, abandoned train platform beneath it called Track 61. It’s connected to the Grand Central Terminal and was originally used to discreetly transport notable guests. One of its most famous uses was by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who would use it to conceal his wheelchair from public view. The track was also the site of a party thrown by Andy Warhol in 1965, and it was used to bring elephants into the hotel for a circus-themed ball.
