  • Hotel Fact: A fun fact about the Cosmopolitan is that some of its rooms feature private terraces, a rarity on the Las Vegas Strip, offering unique views of the city or the Bellagio Fountains. Additionally, it hosts a hidden speakeasy-style mezcal bar, Ghost Donkey, marked only by a donkey on a “secret” door in Block 16, and offers a unique “Verbena” cocktail at the Chandelier Bar that includes an edible Szechuan button that makes your mouth tingle and feel numb after you eat it.
  • The Best on the Strip: It’s my absolute favorite hotel in Vegas—period. I mean, it’s just got this whole unique vibe.

  • Rooms with a View: You can get a balcony here! A real one! The view of the Bellagio fountains is just incredible from your room.

  • The Chandelier Bar: This place is a must-visit. It’s open 24/7, and you can always grab a great cocktail and meet some cool people.

  • Foodie Heaven: Seriously, the restaurants here are the best. I end up eating here even when I’m staying somewhere else!

  • Cool Vibe: It feels like a small, cool boutique hotel, but it’s got all the stuff a huge resort has. So neat!

  • Marriott Rewards: Hey, if you’re a Marriott person, this is your spot. You can earn and use your Marriott Bonvoy points here, which is a huge deal on the Strip.

  • Balcony Access: If a balcony is on your wish list, this is one of the only places to get one! Just make sure to book a room that says “Terrace” or “Balcony.”

  • Price Point: Heads up, it’s not a cheap stay. You’re looking at over $300 a night with resort fees. But honestly, the quality and location are totally worth the extra cash!

  • Unique Layout: The hotel’s front door is actually around the back, which is a little different. It’s not one of those sprawling, easy-to-get-lost-in resorts, which I love!

  • Techy Rooms: The lights and stuff are controlled by a touch panel, which can be a little clunky. Just be prepared for a small learning curve!

Our Experience: A Las Vegas Veteran’s Favorite

I don’t know how many times I’ve been to Vegas, but I can tell you I’ve spent about 30 days a year there for the last 15 years. It’s a mix of work and fun, but I think I’ve stayed in pretty much every hotel on the Strip. And out of all of them, the Cosmopolitan is my number one favorite!

Before the MGM and Marriott partnership, this was pretty much the only Strip hotel where you could get Marriott points. It was a total jackpot for Marriott folks. It was originally supposed to be a condo building, but they flipped it into a hotel, and now it’s one of the few places with an actual balcony. That’s a massive win! It’s so cool how you can stand out there and watch the Bellagio fountains do their thing every 15-30 minutes.

What I love most is the vibe. It feels like a small, trendy hotel, even though it’s this huge two-tower resort. You don’t get lost in a giant maze like at other places. The lobby is on the back side, and you walk into this incredible display of 42-inch screens. As an AV guy, I can tell you that’s some seriously cool and difficult design work! The casino floor is long and open, stretching all the way down to Las Vegas Boulevard, with little bars and restaurants all over the place.

Culinary Excellence: A Foodie’s Paradise

Trying to explain the food at the Cosmopolitan is like trying to explain designer brands—it’s just the best. In my humble opinion, this place has every great restaurant in Vegas. My friends and I often end up taking an Uber over here just to eat, even when we’re staying somewhere else! It’s a true foodie destination.

My favorites are honestly Zuma, the speakeasy-like Beauty & Essex, and Secret Pizza (you have to find it!). And don’t skip the tacos in the food court, they’re fantastic. I also love the Scarlett’s, a newer spot near The Ski Lodge. And for brunch, The Henry is our go-to. They have the most amazing meatloaf, of all things!

Restaurants to 100% skip, STK (far to loud and obnoxious) and Jaleo, this place has the most TERRIBLE food.

Unforgettable Bars & Nightlife

The drinking scene here is so much more than just the casino floor. While the Marquee Dayclub & Nightclub is great for a party, I prefer the more unique spots. The Ski Lodge, for example, is just one floor up from the lobby and feels like a secret speakeasy. It’s a cool place to grab a drink, and even if there’s a line, it usually moves fast, so don’t worry!

Then there’s the awesome Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails. You literally walk through a real barbershop to get to a cool, lively speakeasy in the back. The live music is a blast! And of course, you can’t go to The Cosmo without visiting the iconic Chandelier Bar. It’s a total masterpiece of design, spans three floors, and serves drinks 24/7. It’s the best spot to hang out, people-watch, and just have fun. I feel like I own the place sometimes!

A Perfect Blend of Luxury & Design in the Rooms

The rooms at The Cosmopolitan are fantastic! They’re modern, fun, and so well-designed. The suites I’ve stayed in often have a massive walk-in shower that leads to a big jacuzzi tub overlooking the Strip. It’s such a neat and unique setup! The decor is beautiful, and I love how the beds are positioned so you can just lie there and gaze at the glittering city lights. It’s so romantic. The way the room is designed, it feels like it’s a part of the city, not just a place to sleep. The attention to detail, from the artwork on the walls to the sleek, modern furniture, really makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere special. The bathrooms are pure luxury too, with spacious countertops and high-end fixtures that just add to the whole pampered vibe.

My only small complaint is that they tried to get a little too fancy with the in-room tech. Using a touch panel to turn the lights on and off is kind of annoying. I mean, just give me a normal light switch, you know? It’s silly and can be a hassle, especially when you’re just trying to get some sleep. But seriously, that’s a tiny little thing that’s easily forgotten once you soak in the rest of the experience. Most of the rooms are suite-style, with a living area, a cool walk-in closet with a bench, and a beautiful bedroom. If you get a full suite, you even get a double balcony! These balconies are connected, but you have two separate doors to get out there, which is a neat touch. You really can’t go wrong with any room here, but the suite setup is just amazing.

The Verdict: The Best of Vegas

You’ll definitely pay more to stay at The Cosmopolitan, but in my opinion, it’s worth every single penny. The quality of your stay, the incredible restaurants, the unique bars, and the money you save on Ubers and taxis by being so centrally located—it all adds up. I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. This place is the jam!

I’ve been to Vegas countless times, and there’s a reason I keep coming back to The Cosmo. It’s not just a hotel; it’s a whole experience. It’s the kind of place that sets the standard for a Vegas trip. From the moment you walk in and see that awesome video art in the lobby to the moment you’re relaxing in a jacuzzi overlooking the fountains, you just feel like you’re in the right spot. For anyone planning a trip, if you can swing the price, don’t even think twice. It’s the best freaking hotel on the Strip, and you won’t regret picking it. It’s the perfect blend of luxury, fun, and convenience, and for me, that makes it the ultimate Vegas destination.
